CSO Alternative Report: The Implementation of CEDAW General Recommendation No. 30: Women, Peace and Security in Indonesia

ubmitted by Indonesia WPS Network (Jaringan WPS Indonesia) as a civil society contribution to Indonesia’s ninth CEDAW reporting cycle, this report assesses the implementation of CEDAW General Recommendation No. 30 on Women, Peace and Security (WPS). It examines five thematic areas: women and traditional conflicts; migration and trafficking; cybersecurity; environmental justice; and preventing violent extremism (PVE). The report draws on desk research, policy analysis, and national consultations across Western, Central, and Eastern Indonesia to identify key peace and security issues affecting women and areas requiring strengthened intervention. The findings were further developed through an internal Focus Group Discussion and reviewed by the core members of the Indonesia WPS Network before finalization.
